PCI soundcard? That's not what it is for, simply the hookup to your cpu.

One is PCI, the other is firewire. I have the firepod and am very happy with it. It was $599. Are you sure they are the same price?

I think the firwire one would be better, I would go for that one because it would save space on my computer.

that is correct. i bought a PCMCIA firewire card and all is super happy.
