I'm thinking i'd like to download some VST instruments for use with my Mac, but the machine we have on the net is a PC. Is it possible to download the instrument onto CD/zip/whatever and then install it on my Mac?
Thanks guys.

if you are using osx, you can unstuff
.zip files right on the desktop,it works great, just did the same thing

Yeah, you can do this (I do it all the time). Works with OS9 and OSX. Just leave the compressed files (usually .sit for Stuffit) alone until you get them on the Mac.
You might need to use the "Save Target Link As..." function (or its equivalent in your browser) because your browser might be set up to automatically uncompress received files and you don't want that.
As an aside, isn't it ironic that the safest machine you have (the Mac) isn't the one exposed to the internet?
