Digital Performer question

Post by MichaelAlan » Wed Dec 29, 2004 3:41 pm

I have asked this before, but can't find the thread,

In DP when you open a new project, it opens with a certain amount of trcks already up, all with the same input. You usually want like 8 tracks, with each input different i.e. track1 input1 track2 input2...

How can you save your whole layout and recall it on different projects? I am sure it is similar with other programs too, so any suggestions are appreciated.

as far as opening it in other saved projects? i know you can make a layout and save it as a template for when you open new projects. you can also create a window set with your own layout but that won't effect your input setup in existing projects.

There is an option is DP to "save as template". That will save your entire layout (audio bundles, tracks, etc.) but it will not allow you to have existing audio in your session (like a click track which I like to have on every project). You can save as many templates as you like and if you check ooff the save as default template checkbox in the save as template dialog box window that appears when you do this procedure it will become the default new session template.
