I am looking into setting up a simple, guitar based, recording system on my computer.

Anyone using these 2?
Looks inviting to my needs but I have to check them out further.
What about adding bass lines. Can it be done with a non-bass guitar and tone manipulation?
Thanks
btw...my system:
P4 2.53 @ 533 FSB
Intel Blue Mountain 2 D845PEBT2 (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 2 DIMM, Audio, LAN, IEEE-1394) mobo
1g Crucial 2700 DDR ram
Seagate Barracuda(80 GB, 7200 RPM, Serial-ATA/150)
ATI Radeon 9800pro
Plextor CD-R 48/24/48x

Re: Line 6 GuitarPort and RiffTracker
i have the guitarport, but i bought mine before they started bundling the RiffTracker software with it...and i really only use it for practicing and for the online lessons - which isn't to say i won't use it for recording eventually, but i haven't yet.
i do love it, though. for the money i paid for it, it kicks ass.

Re: Line 6 GuitarPort and RiffTracker--GOT ONE!!!
WOW!
For $99 my goodness this is sweet!
I am discovering new features. The tone library-online-is awesome. You can search by band or artist and download the tone of their amp. I found Duane Allman and downloaded the amp settings then saved it because I like it.
Talk about being in guitar heaven! My Les Paul Custom just loves this unit. I have it patched to my NAD pre-amp where I run my computer too also. I then listen through a pair of Sennheiser HD570 headphones.
I have a feeling that my laundry and personal hygiene are going to take a backseat during this "obsession". LOL!!!
