Logic Error - Timer or Midi Output inactive

Post by Dj Mayonnaise » Thu Jan 06, 2005 8:19 am

Hi all,

I'm getting the following error with Logic 5.1:

"Timer or Midi Output inactive" - I'm not even running any midi devices.

System:

Win XP Home
1.3 gig AMD Athlon
Soyo k7v dragon plus mobo
1 gig Corsair pc2100 DDR
M-Audio Firewire 1814
7200rpm Maxtor

This started happening after I recently reformatted my hard drive. I've disabled the microsoft onboard syth contraption, but it hasn't helped. I'm not sure what else there is to do. All drivers are updated. Am I missing a setting in Logic? .wav files seem to play fine in Win Media Player.

Any ideas?

thanks guys

Have you checked on all the settings in Logic and the control panel for your soundcard to make sure that the digital word-clock signal parameters line up nice?

Sounds like both programs are trying to adjust the digital clock rate and then getting confused when it doesn't change.

It all looked good to me. I had a soundblaster card in there that I think was bad. I figured some drivers were left over so I reformatted again. The PC still locks up whenever I play audio. This is odd. Maybe I'm missing something or the 1814 is bad....

I have a friend coming over Wednesday to see if he can see something I missed.

Turned out to be some kind of IRQ conflict after all. I fixed it, thanks for listening to my tear filled words, heh.
