How easy is it to downtune synths in Logic 7?

Post by DryCounty » Sat Jan 22, 2005 7:56 am

Quick question, but first understand that I am terrible at reading manuals and get way more confused than if I just fire up Logic and figure stuff out for myself.

My band tunes a half-step down, and I'd like to try to layer some stuff via softsynths in Logic 7 only I'd like to look at my keyboard and play it "normally" -- having it play the correct notes instead of (me) having to play 1/2 step down.

How is this accomplished once the live audio tracks are laid down?

Thanks in advance!

in the exs24 window there's a 'transpose' window, just shange '0' to '-1' for a semitone, '-2' for a whole step. ('-12) for an octave.

i don't use the synths so don't know if they have the same control but i imagine it's in there somewhere. somewhere around upper left in the window probably.

another option is lay the sequence down by itself in regular tuning. select the sequenced part in the arrange window, open it the matrix editor, select all (apple+a), slide everything down a 1/2 step w the mouse.
