What do you use to convert audio formats?

Post by djdrake13 » Thu Jan 27, 2005 10:45 am

I am running on a Mac w/ Pro tools and not much else. I am looking for an audio format converter, since PT doesn't output Window Media or Quicktime. WTF??
Anyone have a good program??

America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable.

You can mixdown to a WAV or AIFF with ProTools so.... what's the problem? Quicktime will play WAV and/or AIFF audio files just fine. Are you saving them to the Hard Drive as 44.1kHz at 16bit files?

I avoid iTunes to burn an audio disc for various legit reasons. I bought Toast Titanium and that works just fine for 44.1kHz/16bit listen copies. For mastering I'll still use Toast but those files are 44.1kHz at 24bit Data Files for the Mastering Engineer. I also avoid Media Player on both my Mac and PC like the plague, mostly due to conversion/re-coversion/compression/re-compression (ugly things are going on--that I can notice meaning: not GOOD).

I want Windows Media files mostly. It's for someone who requests that type of file.
