my parents want to record themselves on their imac with OS X, anyone know of any good, free, multitrack software?
nothing fancy, wouldn't even need more than 2 tracks, and they're my parents, so the simpler the better actually
thanks for any help

Re: Free multitrack software for OS X?
well tracktion WAS free, but not totally easy.
The best way to go would be garageband. not free, but close. You can get copies of iLife 04 for $25 or so now. It's version 1, but it works great and is likely the easiest way to go.
Pro Tools free is only OS 9 compatible, so that's out too.

There's also Audacity, which is really quick-and-dirty but can be effective.

Audacity is great. And free.
I find adherence to fantasy troubling and unreasonable.

Ardour will (I think) run under OS X. I could be wrong....
