Recommend me some programs for my new powerbook
I just got my new G4 Powerbook for college. I've been using Sonar and Fruity Loops on my PC for three years. Now I need to get some programs for mac. What would you recommend that would function similarly to Sonar and Fruity Loops? I need a program for multitrack recording with my MOTU 828.
I just got Ableton Live 4.0 to replace Fruity Loops and that looks like it'll do the trick, but I am open to other recommendations.
Thanks,
Andrew

dude....
get Logic.
you can get express for 150 with an academic discount, or you can get pro for 500.
It slays sonar in my opinion, and works fine with the 828.
A lot of people here are crazy about Digital Performer. I've heard good things.

live definitely. but that's already done. dp rocks, but the new logic stands to break the back of all things mac. so go there if the discount is available. get some of bad-assed plug-ins from waves. and the bomb factory peeps. they rule.

Soundhack is great, and free. Takes a bit of learning, but once you start convoluting songs, it's hard to stop:

I'm a senior in high school, I just finished all my applications and my parents rewarded me with this laptop.
Well if your at Northwestern, I'm about 5 minutes away from you...I'm right on the border of Evanston and Wilmette.

Are you an evanston high schooler too kilroy?
I root for ETHS, because they're way more ghetto. Plus I heard you can score drugs there.

actually, I'm from South Dakota, did undergrad at NU and lived in Evanston for 4 years, and now I'm living in Chicago and getting my master's at NU.
I meant that I root for ETHS over New Trier.
