Oh no! MOTU 896 / OS 10.2.8 problem!

Post by Hunchentoot X » Sun Oct 05, 2003 8:12 am

I'm running a G4 tiBook, and I just installed os 10.2.8 last night, upgrading from 10.2.6. I use a MOTU 896 with DP 4. I'd read that Apple had problems with this upgrade and had pulled its release, but had lateley released it again with the problems fixed.

Today, I switch everything on, and at the end of the startup sequence, I'm told I need to restart. I get restart messages no matter what the sequence of plugging in and powering on the 896. I have gotten restart messages before when setting up the 896 in various ways, but never this consistently. Before I go find my OS X discs and reinstall everything, then download all of the upgrades until just before 10.2.8, does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks!
Joe

Have you tried posting over at unicornation.com? There seems to be a bit about the latest update an Motu hardware but I don't know the specifics offhand as I'm still running smoothly in 9.2 but there is a bit of info over there.

Good luck.

I believe you have to get an updated driver from MOTU. Unicornation definitely is a great resource if you're using MOTU products...
