PC smells funny after new CPU

hey i just put in a new CPU a week ago. no biggie but a day after that this damn thing is putting out a strange smell that is giving me a headache. i also noticed my power supply fan isnt working. i took off the cover to let some air get in untill i can get a new one. but where the Hell is this smell comming from? its awful.

you're joking, right ? that smell you're getting is probably your computer melting.. you need those fans - if your power supply fan isn't working it's probably melting out.. check your CPU fan as well - but definately NOT A GOOD IDEA to run those things without fans (especially these days), I'd not turn on my PC again until you can find a replacement or get it working. good luck with that, heh.

i just found out its my old Monitor. it has been acking funny. it is HOT AS HELL and the smell is comming from it.
