another 002 question...

Post by backwardspiano » Mon Nov 17, 2003 7:04 pm

i`m about replace my 001 with an 002 rack, and i am guessing that i have to use the new software with it. Does anyone know if my old plugins will work with the new software? A lot of them are cracked...what are you gonna do though, i mean, who really has a grand to drop on some plugins!?

I have a shitload of plugins, but only really one or two that i can`t live without. I`d hate to not be able to use them.
that's just some rope moving around.

Well the 002 rack only works on OS X. Are your cracked plugins compatible with OS X? I guess it's worth a shot. Definitely do all the updating to ProTools 6.1.2 There are some fixes that make life easier.

the 002 requires you to use pt6.0 i believe. 6.0 requires you to reinstall off the original disc all of your old plugins. none of your old cracks will work. 5.2 is the last pt that allows you to use your old cracks, but it won't run on osx.

i`m actually running windows xp. according to the digidesign website, you can run 6.1.1 and the rack with it. at least i hope...i just sold my old pro tools setup!
does that make a difference with the cracked plugins?
i`m starting to freak out a little bit. not a whole lot, but a little.
that's just some rope moving around.
