Sony Vaio for ProTools

Post by mattmlpdx » Sat Jan 03, 2004 10:06 am

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on using a 2.8GHz P4 Sony Vaio for Pro Tools. It looks like it meets all the Digi Specs. Any feedback appreciated.

personally, i vote a big NO to the sony vaio. talk about a complete proprietary piece of junk..but, you did mention pro tools, and i tend to lump that into the same category.

research a little and build your own computer and try using non-proprietary hardware. you will be glad down the road. that's my opinion.

If you're the kind of person that upgrades hardware instead of the entire system, avoid the Vaio. If you just buy a new system when the old one gets slow, it'll do.

Just wipe the harddrive clean and re-install Windows first. Sony loads the Vaio's up with a ton of unneccesary crap that will only hiner and sort of audio production.
