USB Hub reccomendations

Post by DeafinONEear » Wed Jun 04, 2003 1:17 am

We need a USB 2.0 hub. Some say that certain brands are better for passing audio, I don't know if I believe it...

Anyone have constant success with hubs?

i'm using a dr. bott 3 X 1 hub for 2 dongles and a midi interface and it's never had a problem. not sure about using it for audio, email them and ask.. they make good stuff.

I just got two APC USB2.0 hubs, not sure of the model number, but they are 4x1 powered. They seem to work just fine except that the Digidesign MIDI interface draws too much power and they shut off that port. The Digi I/O powers fine off of the Macintosh G4. So if you are running something that draws close to the 500 mA limit than don't choose APC. Otherwise it is a pretty straight forward little box. It runs everything else fine, even the daisy chained Gefen extender that then runs a keyboard and two yamaha consoles.
