I've recently purchased a few units from this gear designer and have become a bit of an admirer of the Davisound equipment. You're probably familiar with Hayne and his work, but his gear is all hand made in wood enclosures, fine-tuned for the end user and incorporates pretty interesting design philosophies. On top of that he's highly communicative with a very unique sensibility and is, overall, a great guy to do business with. I think an interview with Hayne about the history of Davisound would be tailor made for TapeOp.
