'breaking down the gear' column or segment?

Post by themagicmanmdt » Mon Apr 02, 2007 9:46 pm

well, here's an idea that i would LOVE to see, and that i think would not only intrigue everyone, but also really get some creative juices flowing:

i'm thinking back to the scattered mods in interviews that are mentioned in issues here and there.

is there enough knowledge to do a column, or 'product breakdown', which highlights a new mod, or gives a circuit overview, each article? it could most likely be a simple mod, and doesn't have to be microphone or neccessarily company specific, but could be more of a lesson.

or, tips and tricks for improvements for gear, home studios, etc? a 'diy' column? something along these lines. i think there's a lot of very savvy people here, and that we can all learn more about different gear, issue by issue. i'm sure not everyone knows how a vacuum tube works! break it down - we'd all benefit as a community.

maybe a guest column about it?

does this seem like it would border on copyright of circuit infringement?

what if every other month there was another mod on par with the Royer 2001 mod. maybe that's the heart of the matter.

just a late night idea.
