TapeOp issues on DVD? Someday?
I just saw that the New Yorker magazine is offering a dvd set of every issue ever printed. It is 9dvd's and only costs $60. I know the folks at TapeOp probably don't have time to do such a thing, but it sure would be cool. You can even search the text of the New Yorker issues for keywords.

Er, simply that if the Tape Op folks are so busy that they can't convert 30 articles to .pdf, they are certainly too busy to author DVDs of 50+ issues of the magazine.
Which is no slam, they're putting out a magazine on top of having full-time jobs. I know how tough it is to manage a full-time job and a side business.

Why doesn't the community volunteer to help? I mean, a virtual back catalog of PDF's on a DVD would be something that nets my money.

I'm sure there's someone on here that has time to do that; that person ain't me.
Of course, if it's gonna make them money, why should anyone from the community need to volunteer?

Karma? Support? The chance to get the DVD free for being a swell guy and helping out? Lotsa reasons I suppose. I already get the magazine for free, so paying for digital copies of the whole back catalog would not be unprecedented. (I've only been subscibing maybe 2 years)dwlb wrote:
