Jack White Interview

Post by willhouk » Thu Mar 24, 2011 9:34 am

I loved this interview. Over the last few years I've become a big fan of this guy. I really like his approach to song writing, recording, and art in general. It was really cool to see his ideas on all of these things in this interview, I enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed the Bob Johnston interview. Great job guys.
Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.

I was happy to see the interview as well, but haven't read it yet. I met Jack last year at his place (Third Man). Weird guy but a fan of most of his stuff.

His whole take on 8-track analog machines is very inspiring, and helps to support my own path lately...

Wonderful read once again.....

That's what I was wondering.

I haven't even had time to read this issue yet.

I'd seen him using it lately (His Mojo tribute to Don Van Vliet being one) so I went with it.

The funny thing is: there is a Raconteurs song with some very audible cellphone interference within the first 2 seconds or so. I forget which song. Anybody else ever notice this?

I can really appreciate his opinions on limitations being placed on what you have to work with. I think that the challenge of not being able to always have the perfect solution at your fingertips can really push your creativity. Sometimes it blows up in your face, but when it doesn't, that's when the magic happens.

I really do enjoy his music and work as a producer as well.
