you didn't mention speed of the harddrive. 160 gigs only tells me capacity.
this is what you want
1. 3gighz processor(no celeron)
2. at least 1 gig of ram ddr400 (i reccomend 2 gigs)
3. very fast hard drive(2 of them in the same computer)
what is fast? i think 7,200 SATA will work but i have scsi and my rotate at 15000 RPM. you want your RPM number to be as high as possible.
also you want 2 hard drives. you want 1 dedicated to your audio programs and then 1 dedicated for storing your songs. this hD will only be used for recording on and saving your tracks.
then you want an audio interface. goodluck.
