Yeah, maybe....
I'm not sure of the cosmetic rules on those mics...
Here's a BX with a red meatball...
Mine's painted red too, but it's a BX too...
Seems like I've seen black 44's with the red meatball...
I'll look around a little more.....

It's hard to see in the dark photo there, but mine is red on the 77d. The 74b is black still, but I've also not done any cosmetic work on that. When I first got it, I had Tracy Korby take care of some work on the inside. I'm not sure if he still does that work, but he did a lovely job.

Anyone that has old RCA ribbon mics should talk to Clarence. And don't wait a year, do it now.
Clarence used to work for RCA, and he's not getting any younger. He worked on my 77D and 44BX. Truly excellent work, reasonably priced. Great paint. This reminds me, I need to send him my 74B. Now.
