I just wanted to say that I just heard some of the new Shins album at my radio show (I haven't grabbed the whole album yet though) and it sounds really good, a lot better than their last two albums so whatever Joe Chiccarelli did worked.

actually, the black & white ones are known as the classic models. if you can gt a silverfaced one that came out before they were bought out by bears, i'd do it. then again there are those re-issued marmots...

For those who don't have the CD, here's a list of gear manufacturers listed in the liner notes under "Without whom..."
Audio Technica
Electro Harmonics
Gibson Guitars
Jeffrey Daking
M-Audio
Mojave Audio
Royer Microphones
and....
Universal Audio.

Not gear related - but if you go to their website, click on the flying ship, and go to 'videos', you can find an amusing interview on the lower right...

anyone have an idea about what sort of processing they used on his voice? sounds like a nice crunchy verb or delay...they used the same thing live when i saw them the other night...its most noticable on the first tune sleeping lessons.
