novice external clock question..

Post by bradfromtampa » Wed Mar 14, 2007 9:14 am

i'm getting ready to re setup my studio. I'm using cubase sx3 with 2 motu 828 mk1's. i have also purchased 2 behringer ada8000's. i would like to be able to mix 24 channels otb. how would i use an external clock for all of these units. what are the benefits of an external clock? can i use one 828 to clock everything? like the title says, i am a novice....

You should be able to daisy chain all the devices together via word clock i/o with one MOTU acting as the master clock, terminating at the last device in the word clock chain.
