So long as it doesn't smell like it...
Mine ended up free... got it in a group of ev mics, 635s, RE10s and 11s for real cheap, sold all but the 635, one RE10 and one RE11, still for cheap, but for enough more that it paid for those three. All were/are in great condition.

Damn, I paid like $80 for mine. It was new though, and black, which I like. I was sick of loosing ebay bids for beat up old ones. Plus, I heard the black ones sound better....I kid.

Haha, but I don't compute well enough to pass college algebra (I'm 23 and have had it 3 times)

So you've had it once for every 7.666666666666666666666666666666 years of your life.

I just won a bid on my first for $52 shipped. It is from the 60's and I want to be able to start giving an answer when bands ask me what vintage mics I have. I also just won a bid for a Unidyne III 545SD two days ago. I would have preferred $30 but what are you gonna do?
edit: and it came in the mail today!
Is there anyway to track down the year of production?
mine is #7827 I guess.
NICE! Mine came with the origional warranty card, registration card, spec sheet, some clip with string on it, and of course the box and Hubbell phone connector as pictured. Awesome.

Got mine for $25 at a flea market. Serial #8436, Buchanan, Michigan. Building a birdhouse with it at the moment. . . .

I already own a hammer and it didn't cost $25 either. I think I'll be passing audio signal through my microphone. Post the birdhouse picture when your done though. Sounds like fun.

You son of a bitch, I just missed bidding on that since I was at work around the time it ended. That one seemed pretty nice.

On my budget, it was either the hammer or the mic. The thinking was, can't pass audio through a hammer (usually), so I went for the the more versatile option. How about after I finish the birdhouse, I'll post recordings of the birds?
Seriously though, I like my 635a. It's nice for clean electric guitar, also loud lead vox. Also hanging pictures.
