studio names

Post by dungeonsound615 » Sat Apr 05, 2008 4:47 pm

I want to change the name of my studio never really liked the name dungeonsound-lab all that much.

however every other word ive came up with seems to be taken for example earshot i want to use that word.

if i did something like earshot recordings, or earshot recording studio or something or does it even matter.

jsut name it what i want and not worry about it.

Well, there is an Earshot Productions in Chicago, so that might cause some confusion.

sorry wrote that after sending three hours cleaning and rearranging my room.

I guess all i wanted to know is what you do when a studio name you like is taken, do you use it anyway or try adn come up with a variation of the name.

Studio Names

Post by >Mojave_Gary< » Sun Apr 06, 2008 7:16 am

I wanted to name my studio 'Abbey Road'. Even though the original Abbey Road studios is located in St. Johns Wood, London, it really pissed off the Royals. They ended up sending some really tall guys with mustaches and goofy red uniforms with tall fuzzy hats to stand guard outside my 'Abbey Road' and not let anyone (not even ME!) inside. Since Abbey Street, Abbey Avenue, Abbey Boulevard, Abbey Circle nor Abbey Court have the same 'buzz', I reluctantly decided to name my studio 'Cactus View Studio'. Although I do live in the desert, there are no cacti to speak of, just Joshua trees. Why not Joshua Studio? you ask. Because my name is Gary. 8)

Be original. It will have more meaning. :^:

you should name it after a street that the studio is not on, thus making it more confusing and thus exclusive for people to record there, it's an instant buzz.

"Milwaukee Ave Recordings" should actually be on "W Clark St"

Maybe if you make it more bluesy, like "flatted third monk," it'd be cooler.
