I dunno, it kinda looks like a plug-in... and why oh why did they put this one up on the product page?vvv wrote:I couldn't find a plug-in, but I did find a USB powered lava-lamp.

I was showing an intern's boyfriend around the studio back in 1994. He was studying audio in college. He looked over at our 24-track machine like it was a big cowpie and said, "huh. guess one day I'll have to learn to use one of those."
But at least he knew what it was...

Im 24 and regardless of whether you'll ever have a chance to use hardware units, or tape machines, etc. as an engineer you should know what those things are and a rough idea of how they work. It seems that alot of people learn just there specific gear, system, and have no clue what else is out there.

I once interned at a top-shelf kinda studio with an SSL in Studio A, and people were griping one day about a session that had just ended in which a bedroom producer type had come in and tried to do everything PTLE-style, including using a Fairchild compressor plugin via the dinky onscreen emulated knob UI when there was a real one in the rack behind him.

A few years ago I was in my local Guitar Center shopping for tubes for my guitar amp. I walked up to the counter and asked the gentleman if I could take a look at their tubes. The guy gave me a weird look so I pointed behind him where the tubes were sitting. He turned around and picked up the box and was looking at it strangely. He placed the box of tubes on the counter and said to me "What are those used for?".
Help me, I need more money to buy gear!
