Anyway....
Nail polish is not a good way to label your expensive console. Oddly enough, edible body paint is....depending on the flavor of coarse.

I buy business card magnets. They have adhesive side that peels off where you apply the card. I use the blank side of the card, then cut them to size and label them. No residue and you can quickly re-assign channels.

Of course this only works on consoles built out of ferrous metals...
