A-T's on drum kit
Edited original post to add a poll (1st one!).
Also, changed versus to include entire drum kit, not just toms.
(Mr. Nick's post above was for a ATM450 preference on toms)
Cheers!

+1. Been there, done that. FAT! Doesn't Charlie Watts have 4033's on his whole kit?losthighway wrote:I don't mean to be a nuisance but I've heard some great tom sounds with 4033's. Just sayin....
Back on topic, I like both the 450 and the 37... I tend to use the 450's for larger toms and the 37's for smaller rack toms quite often on the same kit. Not always, but a lot...

A/T's on drums
Maybe I should add:
If you have a choice of only using ATM450's and Pro37's,
which mics would you put on what part(s) of a drumkit?
Sorry for the vagueness.
Cheers!

The Pro 37 is most definitely cardioid, NOT supercardioid.mr. nick wrote:i prefer the 450's. the pad helps, and the HPF can be useful. the 37 is brighter and supercardiod. i feel like the 450's have better depth and usually do not eq.
