DP 7

Post by TV Lenny » Tue Nov 10, 2009 11:55 am

Anyone using Digital Performer 7? I have been running it for a few weeks now. I absolutely HATE the user interface. It reminds me of a crappy Windows UI. The trade-off however is it is amazingly efficient. I'm wondering what others who use DP think of the UI and the version in general.

Even though I don't really do much mixing ITB anymore, I am glad to see I can run a ton of demanding plugins if need be.

GUI mods for DP7

Post by Tritonemusic » Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:08 pm

I'm still using DP5.13 but there are some mods available for DP7 here:

It sure beats the eye-blinding whiteness of DP7.

I've been reading this forum for years but finally decided to sign up after reading your post. :)

I hated the old DP UI. So, it only took me a short time to get used to the new one. I don't have any complaints. DP7 has been a pretty great upgrade for me.

I went from 5 to 7, missing the expense and nightmares of 6. The GUI doesn't bother me but there are at least two mods over at Motunation. DP7 isn't flawless, But I feel like MOTU is back on course now. Lovin' it.

Glad to hear these opinions. I'm upgrading my system soon and I wasn't sure if I was going to continue on with DP at all. Looks like this new one is worth it..

Thanks, I will certainly install the "better" UI that guy is offering. Welcome too!

I went from 5 to 7 and bypassed 6 with all it's problems. I've been using DP for quite a long time now and 7 so far is working very well.

to The Thing
If you dug previous versions of DP, but were scared of the flac you heard about DP6, DP7 seems to fix it (I never bought DP6, so no first hand experience). If you don't know already, Motunation is the place to be for this kind of info. Lovin' it still.
