Post by ctmsound » Sun Jun 05, 2011 10:20 pm

Hey all, anyone know the process of replacing cables on a 77? I bought two with busted cables, looking to fix up. I can't seem to figurenout hownto get the base apart.

OK, got the base apart. Question. Am I going to fry the ribbon if I de-solder the cables from the chasis? This may be a dumb question, but I don't want to mess this mic up. :)

you should be fine using a normal iron..if you're worried about it heating up something add a heat sink betwixt the solder point and sensitive bits..
