I still have mine and, though I haven't used it in years, I'd be hard pressed to get rid of it. They're great machines! :^:

Me, also; it was my second recorder after a Porta 1.

It was great.

I keep meaning to break it out of storage ...

(After that I bought a BR8, and then went ITB with Cool Edit, the Cool Edit Pro, where I still am.)

My 238s was cool enough for a TapeOp poster to make an unsolicited offer for it. :)

Given their board status, I of course said yes.

Still treat my HD24 as if it were the 238s....

I had a 488 potrastudio back in the day. It was the second recorder I ever had after a Fostex X-30 4 track. I made some really good recordings with the 488. It was better sounding than the 4 track for sure. A friend of mine has a 238 and he's done some cool sounding stuff with it. They are fun for sure!
