Latest gear you've acquired.....

Vick '73 Ram's Head - there's a reason Mascis uses one at times, it's one of the better custom-type Muffs

Hahaha, you have a gift!
Went to the local guitar shop yesterday and bought an MXR Phase 95, which is the phase 90 and phase 45 circuits in one pedal. Dunno how much the phase 45 will get used but the 90 is pure EVH bliss and I'll probably never turn it off.

Just reading this makes me hear a partly palm mutes arpeggio riff. I'm sure you know the one.MoreSpaceEcho wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 6:54 amHahaha, you have a gift!

Purple TAV eq.
Eagerly awaiting its arrival. I wanted something graphic that could throw a ton of weight around for sculpting guitars and snares and things like that.
We'll see how it does.

DemonFX Microtubes A7K; a Darkglass clone (never used a Darkglass), a pretty modern-sounding heavy bass distortion, quick and edgey, lotsa EQ control. Makes it easy to get that Tool grind.

Decided to keep this guitar (which was my brother's) and send it to my studio - where it is now waiting for the right song to record... It's a custom Guilford (www.guilfordguitars.com). feels great and that embroidery on the inside of the case? wow. anyway, this is possibly the exact one seen here in this video:

I'm just waiting for confirmation (John G said there were 2 with this finish). I'm pretty sure the guitar will be used in my studio for songs that sound nothing like what Bruce is playing. lol.

This crazy 9 string went off for some set-up work and is now YouTube famous thanks to local guitar repair wizard and YouTuber Ted Woodford.

Yes! I knew I'd seen that guitar before, but totally forgot it was here!
One of my favorite YT channels, BTW.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
I just got a used SSL Alpha Link MX 4-16 (a MADI to analog converter rack) to hang off of my Antelope Orion 32+ via MADI so that I can have dedicated headphone outs fed properly all the time. It sounds excellent!
Has anyone ever used these before? — I'm just now getting the settings right so that it passes signal, but it doesn't seem to chase clock very well. As in, if my Antelope changes Sample Rate, the SSL doesn't consistently flip over to the new sample rate. I thought I saw it do it once a few minutes ago, but now I can't seem to get it to chase clock any longer.

Idiot Box Blower Box, v.1.
A guy sold it to me cheap and I don't understand why; it's like the opposite of the Iron Horse in that's is a less-bright, bigger-bottomed Rat with kinda like Muff-sounding EQ (but still reversed) and a blend.

RYAN WAS TOTAL CEREAL and put together one of my kits. It sounds jawesome. I have next week off to tackle a bunch of home projects, errands, car repairs, etc, and I hope getting the second one assembled is part of the week's projects.Recycled_Brains wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 2:11 pmsuper cereal.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
if I recall, the subject here was the Hairball Copper preamp. Besides using a pair for room mics all the time, it is my go-to pre for just about anything. Used one yesterday with a Weird Audio W47 mod2 (M7 style capsule) to track male vocals, tenor sax, and guiro and it was fantastic.
