Post by digitaldrummer » Mon Oct 03, 2022 12:21 pm

not a typo and not kidding.... just got an email.

https://isovoxbooth.com/product/isopop-24k-gold/

obviously targeted at the young and impressionable pop-star wanna-be's (that hopefully have dumb, rich parents)

Well, you wouldn't want your podcast viewers to see the usual coathanger + old sock combo, would you?

For that price I’d want the outer ring cast in solid gold, not a 1 micron gold plate on aluminum. I’m sure solid gold would absorb more resonances or something.

It was pantyhose, and it was almost brand new.

Only worth it if it doesn't slip or droop. That clamp mechanism doesn't inspire confidence.

Not slipping or drooping would be nice, but for that kind of scratch I would also need for it to comp my vocal takes, eq, compress them, and get them seated in the mix.

Agree. it's simple physics. that thing looks like it has a lot of mass. the only pop filter I've had that has never drooped is a Stedman -- but 1) it costs more than $20 and 2) it has a very low-mass pop-filter/screen

From their description:

Weight: 158 g x $53.57 = $8464.06

A bit more than the 1K they are asking for. LOL. but it would be the entire thing made of solid gold.

Price per gram of gold:

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.
