Shock mount cord spool
Hi,
I have some very old shock mounts that have lost the elasticity in the shock cord. I've lost some of the shock cords. Is there a spool of something I could buy that would let me restring all my shockmounts cheaper than buying all the bespoke little hair tie looking things from all the manufacturers?
Thanks,

Amazon has everything -- https://www.amazon.com/Elastic-String-B ... B0C6MFFXL8
of course you will either have to make knots or find some type of metal crimp clasp, but like I said Amazon has everything...

Elastic hair bands work a treat, cheap.

Nice selection at McMaster-Carr:

Also check bead stores.

Re: Shock mount cord spool
these are what I actually use myself:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Goody-Ouchle ... t/45017518
or
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Goody-Ouchle ... t/21811200
depending on the color I need. You just have to re-string them a little bit different, so they fit right. They are "one size fits all", where as the spools would give you more flexibility, but will cost more in the end.

Re: Shock mount cord spool
When you buy the bulk chord, how are you attaching the ends to make the loop?
Re: Shock mount cord spool
First, you hafta cut the chord with a B#, the you smash it together on Ab.

or use those metal crimp rings like I posted much earlier. slip them on, squeeze them flat - like they do with those bracelets.
or follow this and just omit the beads. https://sarahmaker.com/beaded-bracelets/

Depending on the brand of mic, Sweetwater does have a few. Like for those Neumann spidermounts for the TLM103, and a few other more generic ones.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.
