Hey Hey!

Did we ever get an answer as to what sort of pre this is, or, if looking for the name for a whole line of pres, what's your overall approach/philosophy?

Regardless, I still say "Stage One" would be great. Who's with me?

I propose the design of this pream to be 2 channels; one tube, the other not.

And the name shall be Tubey or Not Tubey (that is the question).

(I really dig parenthetical song names btw.)

Hey Hey!

If we make it "2B or Not2B (that is the question)" then you've got my vote (assuming it's 1 tube and one not)(and assuming you'll also vote for my "Stage 1")

(ok?)

you guys are rediculous. ok its all transistors, balanced tranformerless in and out with the option to add transformers for input and output. the board is the size of API board and it rocks. it's very clear and has tons of headroom but still has tone with lots of options so you can use different caps such as paper oils to change the tone of the mic pre. also adding transformers will also change the tone. so after these are made he will need a chasis builder and a design to go on the front and he will need a solid name so that everyone remembers it and digs it. in the end i will be responsible for the design and the name. i just thought i would see how creative you guys are and to see if there was really a name that everyone would like to see in their studio. something that could be used like "hey johnny go plug that mic into the "XXX" (mic pre). this is going to kick ASS!"
any more ideas would greatly be appreciated. also serious ideas are also invited. the little kiddie bathroom humor is starting to get old. who knows you may just have an influence on a serious mic pre that may have a future in studios. only time will tell.
