Audio cables will not get close to the speed of light. The spec is called 'propagation delay'. My best high speed data cables work at 70% propagation delay, not too shabby. The best fiber optics work much faster.

If the 70% means the fraction of the speed of light, that's still something like 700,000 feet of cable having the same delay as the sound going through 1 foot of air? Maybe less if it's one of those coily cables like Hendrix used.
