sort of makes sense .. I'm trying to keep up / understand what yr saying
For reference
it's the version 03 35102 - written in pen on the back of the modules frame - I see one NE5 something IC on the D253 card
my cards say
D253 issue B AND issue F printed on the board with the mic and line xfrmrs .. like huh?
and
D258 issue D on the card with the wasp switches

Here is the schematic i'm referencing

There are 2 pages. The first is more of a block diagram. In the very upper RH is a representation of amp five, the output, with pin numbers that correspond to the numbers on your transformer schematic.
On the second page is an actual schematic of amp five, in the middle on the left, which shows the caps and resistors I referenced.
The first thing I would try is desoldering the transformer and making temporary connections at those points to an output jack. If the frequency response is no longer skewed, this is the culprit.

I will try as that sounds DIY able
BTW thanks so much for taking the time to help.
I would think that the pro audio company that racked these would not have sent them out not representing 1/2 the spectrum .. but I guess it's possible
I sent an email to someone who's company (or old company) did the racking about the issue and I'm waiting to see if they weigh in
it's the schem for the v02 that's posted there and I have v03 ..not sure how different it is

Re: racked console channels help (audix 35102)
Hi.
I live in Brazil.
I recently did a complete recap on the Audix 35104.
when I installed it on a rack, there were some problems similar to yours.
There was one that the preamp is working normal, but when I turn on the EQ the sound is distorted.
I am not an expert. I'm trying to solve it with a local technician.
Apparently he left the soldering tips of the cacapcitors, so that may have touched the plate.
Or something was the replacement of the 470uf25v capacitor with 470uf40v (with a 5mm larger diameter) on the D259 output driver board. I think it's housed in the chassis.
So, my question, were you able to solve your Audix 35102 problem? If you can share how you did it, I appreciate it.
as i said, i am not an expert, but it seems that the difference from Audix 35104 to 35102 is the output drive - D259.
Greetings from Brazil - Bahia.

another question:
Do you have the complete service manual for the Audix 35101, 35102 and 35104?
