but seriously, anybody want to buy a self-contained rackmount Magnecorder 1/4" tube reel-to-reel? trying to offset the cost a bit.

M-Audio gave me one of their Sputnik tube, multi-pattern microphones. Pretty damn cool!!!


That and I bought a macbook in white. Awesomeness.

I'll bite... AGAIN. I bought a bunch of mics. Rack gear is cool and all, since you get to look at it all the time, but mics are my first love.

Earthworks m30 x2 (same as tc30k as far as i can tell, except that they don't work with transformer balanced inputs... weird)

Lawson L47FET x2 ... IN GOLD!! these are in the mail. so excited.

broke down and got a mac g5, a motu 241/o, with logic pro 8 and a ton of plug-ins.. it has been a bitch teaching myself all of this ITB stuff but the ease of looking at waveforms has me sold on it.

agreed! don't just use it on snare. its actually really cool on kick, and excellent on bright electric guitar cabs (silvertone, dimed fender, etc). i've got some cool (tight) bass cab sounds of it it too.
