i seem to remember sonic youth opening for pearl jam on a different tour, quite a few years back...is that true, or is it my imagination?

Radiohead are just so much more goodlooking than those mutants that make up Sonic Youth..Their music and cover art are way more palatable to the lowest common denominator escapist wool covered eyes mo-rons as far as I've been able to tell..
Are you kidding? Kim Gordon is a total hottie. She can have all my kittens AND her bass goes grrrrr.

Yep, true - it was the Binaural American tour (Dismemberment Plan opened during the European leg).

I personally like to judge bands on how they look and what their fan base dresses like rather than their actual music.

I own nothing by the bands mentioned. I like some of the music though. I saw Broken Social Scene in Nashville a few years ago and they were an amazing band. I was right by the board and hung out with their live mixer. He was a completely integral part of the show. I hope they are still using him.
Yeah. Ditto. Flaming Lips are the goods. I like them a lot.

Anyway, Yo La Tanga is good. Radiohead is good. Cold Play is okay...kind of like how Coors light is okay. It's palatable but simultaneously, forgettable.

yes yes - without moe tucker's vibes, where would sonic youth have found their sound? my jazz drummer buddy shudders every time i play my 180 grams of White Light/White Heat..but the Lips, yeah - i still haven't made up my mind about BSS, they seem just a little too Radiohead-esque, but damn do they get some nice sounds

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
