I originally tried using the XLR to RCA unbalanced because I was going into an RCA input and I got a pretty loud hum around 100hz. I used an XLR cable to an XLR input and it was silent, so keep that in mind.

The first one I got was dead, but the second works fine.

I tried overloading it for vocals, and when it was very slight it sounded ok, but I thought it sounded completely horrible and unusable when is was heavily overloaded. I suppose this is normal, but I thought there would be more of a gradual increase to this point then there was. Does anyone have similar experience? For a bit I was thinking I had another bad unit.

Sounded good so far, but haven't done extensive tests quite yet.
