Sure they look pretty on the internet, but you can't actually GET one.

They should be very cool, three settings, all that madness, finally a product that isn't just another re-hashing. But then again... Where the hell are they?

the website says the 4110 is a "capacitor free design" (http://www.uaudio.com/webzine/2005/octo ... tent4.html) so that would rule it out as a 1108 reissue if the statement is accurate. For reference, the langevin am16 is a capacitor free design... The 2108 was more or less, a reissue of the 1108 with the addition of a buffered input which was used for the gain control. Very very very smarly designed piece of equipment, of course UA had to discontiue it... There were all hifi caps in there, that was a really expensive box for them to build, sounded awesome, goes to show you where their head is at...

looking at the site, looks like the 110 is a single channel version.

havent heard any of the stuff, thats just my reaction based on what was posted up on the site.

I think the output stage is the same as the 2108 utilizing the same transformer from their 1176 re-issue. I bet they sound similar. I absolutely love my 2108's some people diss them but it seems to be in fashion to diss UA lately. I like my 2192, 2108's and I like my 2-1176. UA is doing a similar thing like Shadow Hills offering different transformer selections. Vintage, discrete, saturate. I would really like to check out some of that Shadow Hills gear.
I know enough to know that I don't know what I am doing.

2108's were really the best value out there in pre's for what you got.

woudl be interesting to see how they adapted the output stage to eliminate all the caps, the output coupling cap seems pretty integral to the design. Would love to look at the pcb if anyone ever gets one of those.

frist 44,

How would you say it compares to the vintech 473? http://www.vintech-audio.com/473_info.html

If you have even tried that. I am contemplating getting one of these or the UA. I do like that that 473 has a bit of EQ and I hear they are dead close to a real neve.
