yamaha pm1800

Hi,

Nice to see the board back-I missed it!!! I'll be acquiring a 24 ch. yamaha pm 1800 board for free in the next week or 2 and was wondering if anyone has any experiences .I know it's from the early 90's which was the era of the pm3000's and the pres are transformerless.I downloaded the manual and there's a mod from Yamaha to add transformers individually to each pre.Perhaps I could mod the pres myself using something currently available instead. I plan to use the board for tracking(routing to headphone mixers, doing a live mix, and using some of the pres-I have out board pres) and to experiment with summing mixes out of the computer.Any insight would be appreciated.Thanks,
