a recording journal

Post by thethingwiththestuff » Thu Nov 03, 2005 8:38 pm

hey guys.....i feel like i have a reason to be on the internet again! salut, TOMB! see? i've been reading electrical's board too much.

while we were down, i wrote up a pretty detailed account of a "guerilla" session my band did in one day at an old church/show space in west philly this summer. i've got about as much more to write as i already have there, but anyway..... if you like these kinds of things, check it out: http://www.doctorandphilip.com/recording.htm i tried to offer solid explanations as to why i made the choices i did.

Awesome! Fascinating reading, a slice of life come alive... what does that remind me of?

Cheers! It should be law that every band has to do a 25 minute song.

What is this case like? I've been thinking about getting one.

Fun read, it makes me want to detail my sessions. I think everyone's pulled the recording-nothing trick a couple times or more.

ha.....yeah, not arming the channels was....soul crushing. a second take of a 25 minute mostly-free improv track.

thanks for reading everyone, glad someone enjoyed it. i'll post again when i finish the vocals and mixing process, as well as a full song clip. not the 25 minute one.
