I got my soundworshop console for 100, and a pair of nice KEF 3-way speakers for free. On the flip-side, I once gave away a subwoofer to a stranger on craigslist.sonicmook56 wrote:I really like my Sound Workshops console I got two years ago for $300.

Trashy, don't hate the player, hate the game.
This is the score of my life. For just over $300 this is what I scored:
2 - Echoplex's
2 - Moog synths
1 - 1965 Fender Blackface Deluxe Reverb
1 - 1954 or '55 Fender Tweed Deluxe
1 - Tascam 1/2" 8-track
and a bunch of random guitar pedals.
I also traded an old G4 for a 1970's Ludwig Stainless Steel 5 piece drum-kit with a Supraphonic snare. Bitchin'.

Crap! I wish I would shell out $300, and score 1/8th of what Shawn scored. But, I have been a bit lucky though in the past few months:
I was walking around the corner from my apartment, and there's a iMac sitting on the curb waiting to be thrown out. I took it home, opened it up, and it looks like the owner threw it out because she was getting errors from a loose piece of RAM. It has been upgraded to a 40gb HD, and had 768mb of ram!
The very next day I'm walking outside, and lo and behold, there's a 2-track 1/4" Telefunken reel-to-reel on the curb in near perfect shape! It doesn't turn on, but I will fix that soon enough.
Then, someone told me I could have this 700mhz ibook if I could fix it. 4 solder joints later; I have an ibook! I may have a spare G4 under similar circumstances as well soon.

Not much in the way of bargains, but:
Tascam TSR-8: ?175 on e-bay. The seller was looking for ?450 buy-it-now, which at the time was quite reasonable. A NOS unit was going for ?999.
The moral of this story: never do a 1-day auction on a Sunday.
Tascam MMC100: 2p, also on e-bay. This is one of those rare units capable of locking a TSR-8 against another recorder in slave mode.
