Recommend a reverb unit please
Can you suggest a reverb unit for me? Absolutely forced to have to pay for silly things like rent and food, I'd like to spend not much more than $200.
I record analog, no plugins in use here.
Any of those new Lexicons worthwhile? I need it mainly for vocals. Short reverbs for a bit of ambience...
Thanks.

I really like my Lexicon MPX 110, it sounds great on snare, which is really all I use it for. A lot of bang for the buck. Would be nice if it were two channels though.

I use the SPX 90 all the time as well.
Ahhh, the lowly SPX 90. i still love them. We have two, and I use them a bunch. Even if I just use one for the "pitch change C" and then put a little bit of "vocal plate" on the return of that...
Almost every mix i do at my place has a combination of 'verbs going. None of the individual boxes are particularly exciting, but together they really have an amazing, lush [cringe], dark quality that i love.
Combining an MPX100 with a spring and an spx 90... whatever. Any combo of anything you can afford. The complexity feels "exponentially better" and sounds so much better to me even just combining two really cheap verbs on different settings.
I have also had good luck with chambering the verb returns out to a couple of speakers, and putting a little verb from something else on the return of the chamber.... Makes your live room as big as you want.... EQ the send and you can "tune your room to the song." Great for adding something that sounds like uber-room-mics on drums rather than just "verb."
