emu 1820m concern

Post by operator_tape » Tue Nov 22, 2005 5:55 pm

I was wondering if any of you had any experience using the emu 1820m for tracking bands and getting good results? Does the line inputs in back of the audio dock bypass the pre-amp section of the dock and go directly to the converters, I am interested in the unit but don't want to go through those pesky pre-amps that the have, just the converters.

i think (THINK) that if you go through the line ins in the back, as most of these boxes have (edirol ua-101, etc), the pres are indeed bypassed. but if you download the manual, the schematics should be there and that should be enough to verify..

Yeah I should check the schematics, I heard that the mbox line-ins go through the pre-amp.

there is no info on the site, I hope its not like the MBOX where supposidly it does not bypass the pre-amp. I guess if someone is using it maybe they could help out.

The line ins are seperate channels from the pre-amps and the pre-amps are bypassed compleatly. While the pre's are usable, for DI'ing they suck hard.
