FIREPOD/AT 4031

Post by strangefruit » Tue Nov 29, 2005 10:39 am

I have(had) a couple AT4031 mics. They got total after I plugged them in my FIREPOD. Anyone had any idea why? I sent in my firepod to Presonus and got it back after 2 months without hearing any comments from them...

Any suggestions about using Firepod? Or would I be better off without that?

Merci...

What exactly happened to your mics? Or are you saying your firepod got messed up? I have no idea what you're asking.

losing my 4031

this is what I thought had happened: the AT4031 were mainly used as overhead mics and they worked great with my analog 4-track. up until a couple months ago when I hooked them to Firepod which as we all know has 48V phantom power on board. Afterwards, I switched back to 4-track recording and notice my 4031 were having abnormal distortion and low dynamic. The 4-track recording came out very disapointing. So I guess my question is: what happened to my mics?! Could the Firepod totaled my 4031?!
