I used one of these a few times over the last couple of weeks and yesterday when I plugged it in, it just didn't turn on anymore. I'm going to try it with a new adapter tomorrow. Hopefully the fault is isolated to the wall wart and not internal. Although, if the PS went bad, i guess something internal could still be bad. Maybe even the cause?
Fingers crossed, i really like this little guy. But sometimes we all know EH can be kind of

Why not?

hi TOMB
got such ace help last time, wanted to talk y'all first before I blew loads more dosh on cables! I've just invested in an FMR RNC - can you advise what the right cables are for the job to add this in, and the correct chain?
my guess is mic-pre / rnc / edirol, but would appreciate confirmation...!
I'm assuming my xlr-trs cable eventually ordered would now go into the RNC, but what cables would come from the RNC to the Edirol box?
thanks in advance for any advice
grant
I've just invested in an EH Mic Pre - sadly, the power adaptor seems to be faulty, as it makes an unholy whirring noise when I plug it in, so hoping a new power supply arrives today.
my 'studio' setup is:
- Studio Projects B1 Condensor mic
- Edirol UA25 USB audio capture box (tech specs - http://www.roland.com/products/en/UA-25/specs.html)
- EH12AY7 Mic Pre preamp
- a selection of pro xlr-xlr and xlr-1/4" leads
- Radial Pro DI Box
- hi-spec'd Dell PC
I'm primarily recording acoustic & bass guitars, ukuleles (!), harmonmicas, melodicas and glockenspiels...
so my question:
I was getting a lot of hum when recording through the Mic Pre, which I'm figuring is aligned to the dodgy power supply. that said, what is the proper chain? my guess is:
> microphone, connected by xlr-xlr to
> EH Mic Pre, connected by xlr-xlr to
> Edirol UA25, connected by USB cable to
> PC
should I be using an XLR to 1/4" for my Edirol device? Should I be turning the gain up full on the Edirol?
