I need a device that...
....that can take the load from my tube amp, and send it direct to the board. A DI for my amp head, so I don't have to bring the cab with me.

Unless I'm reading the manual wrong, you can connect a power amp out to the input. One of their marketing brochures says it can handle "up to 3000 watts".
EDIT: Oh, but it looks like you still need a cab. It's not a power soak, just a pass-thru. So it wouldn't work if you didn't want to lug a cabinet along.

Hughes and Kettner "red box" is what I always used to use for that.
Works well. Has a little switch on it for "1x12" or 4x12 which are just little EQ curve thingies. You still need a speaker after the box. or at least a big dummy load.

Thats just a DI box, it can handle those wattages becuase its has a high input impedance. It isnt going to dissapate 3000 watts. This would be cool on a SS amp but a tube amp must have the proper load or you will destroy it. Many DI boxes will have this warning in the fine print.John Jeffers wrote:Unless I'm reading the manual wrong, you can connect a power amp out to the input. You will need some kind of attenuator such as a power break, all of these solutions will not give you the sound of your speakers.
This is a long slippery path.........
Hey Lance how about one of these bad boys. I've had my eye on one for awhile.

There's a product called the Marshall SE-100 that should do the trick.
I don't think they are made anymore but probably pop up on ebay from time to time.

Somebody on gearslutz is selling one of the older Groove Tubes speaker emulators. You can probably grab it cheap as hell. Here's a link:
