recording books, journals, etc.

gift (and article/review) ideas: i am looking for recommendations for journals, diaries, books, etc., that document artisits' recording processes on various albums. I?ve looked at the 33 and 1/3rd series, and it's cool, but those books write from another artist?s perspective about a specific seminal album, i.e., Sam Inglis writing about Neil Young?s Harvest or someone writing about The Replacement?s Pleased to Meet Me. Do people have suggestions for books that would document the anecdotes and techniques from the studio? A well-crafted narrative encompassing the making of, for example, Harvest or any other Neil Young album. I am interested in a number of different artists/albums. The aforementioned are examples. --thanks. richard. theburdens.com
