I dont understand the ego driven "ownership" of prjects that people will get into. Like if they tracked something good, would it belittle their involvement if the mix engineer does a good job with those tracks and everyone looks great in the end?

i think part of what weirds me out about it is simply how new i am - at this point i only have like two paid gigs under my belt, so i view every project as "my baby." when your resume is still in its infancy (like mine), and you aren't getting regular work yet, the idea of handing off your hard-won gig is pretty alien - it would feel like asking someone else to take my girlfriend out to dinner. i guess as my list of accomplishments grows, it will be a bit less bizarre.
